    Is clonidine an ace inhibitor

HI-dose Naloxone (10mg) has reversed the clinical effects of non-opiate drugs such as clonidine and ACEI. There are many theories as to why this reversal occurs. Naloxone impacts both opiate and non-opiate receptors. The following explains naloxone reversal of somnolence/hypotension due to its effects on the opiate receptors. Naloxone also has effects on other receptors (such as imidazoline) that also play a part. There are both responders and non-responders to hi-dose naloxone, but that is a question for another day. HI dose naloxone (10mg) is usually required for the reversal (one of the reasons subsequently explained). Personally, I would start with either the lisinopril or captopril and hope I wouldn't cough. (For me they are OUT because I couughed my head off with enalapril when it was the only ACE (Vasotec.) Diabetics would probably be wise to start with the higher priced Altace. Cassiebel or Lenin: Are you saying that the ACE's make your heart race? My boyfriend began taking 60mg of Cymbalta daily about 3 weeks ago after trying several other medications for severe migraines. It worked wonders and completely changed his attitude! He was much more outgoing, no anxiety or mood swings and hasn't had a migraine since- BUT he totally lost his sex drive! And when I finally got him to, it took forever to climax- not sure if it's a loss of sensation down there or what?! being on this site you hear many things one of the more common things that you hear is problems with sex drive when individuals are on antidepressant drugs or on drugs such as celexa, cymbalta, lexapro, and on goes the list I have heard some people say that this side effect is not as bad with the drug called Wellbutrin, that would be something that should be discussed with the prescribing doctor, sometimes maybe a doctor may have a suggestion or he may be able to adjust the dose in order to make things better, I apologize for not being able to give you information that would correct this problem but the best thing that can be done is frankly discuss this with the doctor, It is my sincere wish that in some way you are able to recieve the help needed to alleviate or greatly improve this problem. Keep us posted, we hear this problem many many times and would greatly appreciate any input you may have with best wishes, Hey mariechris, Unfortunately, the Cymbalta as well as most antidepressants cause sexual disfunction. The only antidepressant that does not for some is Wellbutrin, as caringsonbj mentioned. Don't know that this will help with migraines though. I, too, suggest you speak with the prescribing doctor candidly and seek other possibilites for controlling the migraines.
