It seemed like the first few days I didn’t really notice much except I would wake up in the mornings feeing slightly nauseous. Then about a month or so in I started getting tremors in my upper body and I could sense them coming on a few hours before waking up every single morning and I try so hard to just sleep through them. Then eventually I’ll toss and turn and no matter what position I sleep in it hurts my body. Then I’ll wake up to horrible pain in my back, neck and shoulders. I wouldn’t take it ever again and I’m only on 25mg so I’m hoping to get off really soon! ""Started with 50mg for 4 months but felt like it wasn't doing anything. Had an increase in anxiety from day one, the anxiety has been increasing each day. Have read that increased anxiety is a side effect of this med but wasn’t expecting it to be so bad for so long, have also read that things get worse before they get better. Hoping and praying that like a lot of people who leave reviews this med will soon start to kick in so I can benefit from it. Seeing doc in a weeks time as not sure whether to stick with it or try something else.""Unfortunately not the one for me! I gave it 6 weeks with no positive response and side effects that were not getting better. Start up on this one is rough so I would definitely suggest you get Propranolol to curb the physical symptoms of the anxiety.

If I had no weekend functions to attend I would be catatonic, only getting out of bed to use the bathroom. 52-week study evaluating sitagliptin vs glipizide in patients uncontrolled on metformin alone: A multinational, randomized, double-blind, parallel-group, noninferiority study was conducted in 1,172 patients with type 2 diabetes who were 18 to 78 years of age and were inadequately controlled on metformin (A1C ≥6.5%–≤10%). Patients on a stable dose of metformin (≥1500 mg/day) were randomized to receive sitagliptin 100 mg once daily (n=588) or glipizide 5 mg/day (n=584) in addition to metformin. Based on glycemic control, glipizide could be titrated to a maximum dose of 20 mg/day. The efficacy and safety of sitagliptin were compared with glipizide over 52 weeks. JANUVIA is indicated as an adjunct to diet and exercise to improve glycemic control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus. JANUVIA should not be used in patients with type 1 diabetes or for the treatment of diabetic ketoacidosis. JANUVIA has not been studied in patients with a history of pancreatitis.
